Based on a true story
When playwright Christine Rose started trading dating horror stories with one of her best friends, she was suddenly inspired to write this play. Every single date depicted here, actually happened - only the names and locations have been changed.
Now it is coming for the first time to a London stage, as part of Etcetera Theatre’s Women’s Writing Festival. Funding from Arts Council England has provided the theatre space and technician support.

Before becoming a playwright, Christine Rose published twelve books, including the critically-acclaimed memoir One Reason to Live, the award-winning 5-book fantasy series Rowan of the Wood, and the bestselling Steampunk romance Avalon Revisited. She holds both a BA and MA in British Literature and needs copious amounts of dark chocolate, frothy mochas, and silent solitude. Her first play, Sanctuary, played for a sold-out run at the Hope Theatre in November 2024.
